Viscount Systems Inc. is publicly traded on the NASDAQ BB as VSYS. The company has been designing security systems since 1969. Viscount’s products have been installed in approximately 35,000 sites in over 30 countries including multi-family high-rises, schools, prisons, hospitals, corporate offices and Government facilities. The company operates from a 12,000 sq. ft. factory in Burnaby, British Columbia, within the metro Vancouver area.   Viscount has full board assembly manufacturing capabilities.

Viscount’s entry to the security market started with Enterphone, patented in 1965. Enterphone was the first telephone entry Intercom system and is now on its sixth generation with the introduction of MESH in 2003 and  EPX in 2008. Over 2 million North Americans live in the 30,000 apartment buildings secured by Enterphone.

An incredible amount of industry knowledge led to the launching of Freedom in 2010. Freedom is an advanced Access Control System that is based upon standard IP principles and satisfies a newly created US Government Standard (FIPS 201).  Freedom is considered a revolutionary product as it is software centric as opposed to competitive offerings that rely upon expensive and proprietary Access Control Panels which are firmware based.  Also, Freedom P.L.U.S. (Physical Logical Unified System) is the first of its kind to utilize Microsoft Active Directory as the front-end for Physical Security.  Extensive company growth is expected due to the introduction of the Freedom line of access control products.
