An incredible amount of industry knowledge led to the launching of the Freedom Access Control line in 2010. Freedom is an advanced Access Control System that is based upon standard IP principles and satisfies a newly created US Government Standard (FIPS 201). Freedom is considered a revolutionary product since it is software centric as opposed to competitive offerings that rely upon expensive and proprietary Access Control Panels which are firmware based. Also, Freedom P.L.U.S. (Physical Logical Unified System) is the first of its kind to utilize Microsoft Active Directory as the front-end for Physical Security. Extensive company growth is expected due to the introduction of the Freedom line of access control products. Viscount has received numerous industry awards for Freedom as seen on the side bar on this page. In 2014, Viscount received both UL 294 approval and US Federal Government FICAM approval for its product.
